The iceman, born to Mother Nature, slid between the mountains. With his two hands, made from ice, he dug into the ground. He worked for a long time and fell asleep, exhausted.

In the morning he looked back, in order to see the fruits of his work. Behind him he left two valleys, which we call today the Upper and the Lower Bohinj Valley.
He was so touched by the beauty of two valleys that his heart shivered in excitement. In his large eyes a crystal teardrop sparkled and fell into the largest basin at the end of the two valleys.

The reflection of the teardrop was so strong that it blinded him and the intense light watered his eyes once more.

His teardrops remained high in the mountains, as a pearl necklace of the Triglav lakes, which are constantly emerging into daylight in the Savica waterfall in order to renew the Bohinj Lake with crystal clear teardrops.
